PIQUA AREA UNITED FUND COLLECTION
INTRODUCTION
The United Fund is a volunteer organization dedicated to raising and allocating funds to a variety of charitable human service organizations. The records of the United Fund of Piqua, Ohio, additional collection were accessioned into the Flesh Public Library Archives and Special Collections on January 10, 2007. They were donated by the Piqua Area United Fund.
The collection fills two boxes with 61 file folders. The record collection covers the years from 1958 until 1992. There are no restrictions on the use of this collection.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS
The Piqua Area United Fund Collection is divided into eight series: Beginnings and Incidentals, Photographs, Audits, Annual Meetings, Correspondence, Checkbooks, Campaign Reports and Campaign related items, and Miscellaneous.
SERIES I: NEWS ARTICLE: Beginnings and Incidentals
Beginnings and Incidentals are a series of newspaper articles from 1958 until 1977, highlighting some of the major occurrences of the United Fund in the Piqua area.
SERIES II: Photographs
Photographs contain four files of photographs and slides. The photographs included are 1966 and 1967 window displays of United Fund supported agencies, a 1974 slide presentation of the agencies supported by the United Fund and a folder of campaign leaders, the last file of photographs are undated and only partially identified.
SERIES III: Audits
Audits contain 16 files of agency audits from 1958 until 1982, the audits are of the agencies served by the United Fund.
SERIES IV: Annual Meetings
Annual meetings contain 6 files from 1960 until 1996 of annual meetings and financial announcements of the campaign.
SERIES V: Correspondence
Correspondence contains four files of correspondence to and from the United Fund.
SERIES VI: Checkbooks AND REGISTERS
Checkbooks and registers contain four files of the checkbooks of the United Fund the dates of these checkbooks range from 1977 until 1992
SERIES VII: Campaign reports and campaign related items
This series contains nineteen files from 1958 until 1984 with campaign information. Campaign leaders, breakdown of contributions, rosters of volunteers, campaign letters and letters of thank you to various individuals for their assistance during the campaign.
SERIES VIII: Miscellaneous
This file consists of one file containing various information and artifacts of the United Fund in the Piqua area. News articles of campaign leaders, 1958 until 1978, campaign brochures, award certificate and a plaque.
