HISTORY
The St. John’s Lutheran Church began in 1888 as a mission Lutheran church, but was not an organized church with a constitution until 1890 with application to the English Synod.
Trustees completed construction of a building in June, 1891 at the corner of Wood and Downing Streets. German services ended in 1895. By the early 1900’s, a new church construction was needed, and in May, 1913, the new church opened its doors.
The next major construction for St. John’s was the 1964 educational building addition.
