HISTORY
“Fractured Follies” was a musical variety show created in 1982 and held every other year in Piqua. It was the Piqua Memorial Hospital’s Auxiliary’s biggest fund raiser and money maker. Proceeds from the show were used to benefit the hospital, and in some years reached $30,000 in profits.
The profits paid for a cat scan, an “MR 10” (a golf cart sized mobile unit), same day surgery and obstetrics equipment, and other projects specifically earmarked.
The Fractured Follies always had great community support, with about 200 local people involved in the production. For every show they would hire a big-time name from New York to direct the show.
