The Piqua Leisure Club Collection
Introduction
The Piqua Leisure Club was organized in October 1978 to bring individuals together to make friends, promote interest in travel and learning among primarily retired persons. Their meetings in the period around 2008 were held at noon on the second Tuesday of each month at the Eagles Lodge at 301 Keinle Drive, Piqua, Ohio and there is a luncheon for which the members paid. Each month there was a program and from time to time trips were planned to various out of town locations. Dues were $5.00 per year.
This particular collection was accessioned into the Piqua Public Library Archives and Special Collections in November 2016 as a donation from Mrs. Alice Gordon and was processed into the archives in January 2017. The material in the collection generally covers the years 2008 through 2010. All rights to the material have been deeded to the Piqua Public Library and the material is available to the public. There are no known restrictions to the use of the material.
