THE NATIONAL CASH REGISTER COMPANY PUBLICATIONS COLLECTION
INTRODUCTION
The National Cash Register Company Publications Collection was accessioned into the Piqua Public Library Archives and Special Collections in November 2012. The collection is a donation from Mr. Earl Sever Jr. and consists of materials saved by one of his relatives who was an employee of The National Cash Register Company of Dayton, Ohio. The materials are available for research without restriction, however, the copyright for these materials remains with the National Cash Register Company. Use of these materials in a for profit publication must be with the permission of NCR.
SCOPE AND CONTENT
The National Cash Register Company Publications Collection is divided into the following six series:
SERIES I: NCR Factory News magazines – 1930’s (Box 1, Files 1-9)
SERIES II: NCR Factory News magazines – 1940’s (Box 1, Files 10-30)
SERIES III: NCR Factory News magazines – 1950’s (Box 1, File 31 – Box 2, File 11)
SERIES IV: NCR Factory News magazines – 1960’s (Box 2, Files 12-42)
SERIES V: ADD-VENTURE – Published in the interest of the employees of the Adding Machine Division of The National Cash Register Company, Ithaca, New York (Note: in 1950 the division was known as the Allen-Wales Adding Machine Division of The National Cash Register Company, Ithaca, New York. By 1952 the Allen-Wales name had been dropped from the magazine and it was re-named NCR ADD-VENTURE adding machine division.) (Box 2, File 43 – Box 3, File 5)
