BAUSMAN LANTERN SLIDE AND GLASS PLATE NEGATIVE COLLECTION

INTRODUCTION

The Bausman Glass Plate Negative Collection was accessioned into the Flesh Public Library Archives and Special Collections as a gift by the descendents and heirs of Dr. Joseph E. Bausman.

Dr. Joseph E. Bausman was the son of Dr. Albert J. Bausman who practiced medicine from 1895 to 1915 in Pleasant Hill, Ohio.  In 1915 he moved his practice to Piqua, Ohio, where he continued until his death in 1953.  The bulk of the materials in this collection were produced by Dr. A.J. Bausman during his tenure in Pleasant Hill.  Dr. Joseph E. Bausman was born in 1905 in Pleasant Hill.

The collection consists of lantern slides, 5x7 glass plate negatives, and 4x5 glass plate negatives.  There are a very few positive prints in the collection.  The collection is housed in eight Hollinger photograph boxes containing 879 files.  There is no restriction on the use of these materials.
