HISTORY
Piqua Citizens National Bank was organized on April 25, 1865 by William and M.N. Megrue and was capitalized at $100,000. In 1867, the bank was purchased by G. Volney Dorsey and Robert B. Moores. The bank was located on the northeast corner of Main and Ash Streets, and remained in that location for the entirety of its existence. In 1896, the officers were W.P. Orr, pres; S. Zollinger, v.p.; and Henry Flesh, cashier. In 1930, the bank merged with Piqua Savings Bank. In 1964 it merged with Troy Citizens National Bank and Tipp Citizens National Bank to become Miami Citizens National Bank and Trust Company. On January 1, 1987, Miami Citizens merged with Piqua National Bank to become Citizens Heritage National Bank (C & H Bancorp). In 1988, C & H Bancorp merged into Fifth Third Bank to form a division known as Fifth Third Bank of Western Ohio. In June, 1997, Fifth Third Bank of Western Ohio merged with Fifth Third Bank, Dayton. The new corporation retained the name Fifth Third Bank of Western Ohio.
