PARKER BRUSH COLLECTION
INTRODUCTION
The Parker Brush Collection is a collection of several black and white photographs that were donated to the Flesh Public Library about 1985. They were found in collection in December, 2004. There are no known restrictions on the use of this collection.
HISTORY
Emmett Parker Brush was the postmaster for the city of Piqua from 1958-1983. Before being appointed postmaster by President Eisenhower, Brush served as state fire marshal for two years. During World War II, he was a bomber pilot serving in the European theater.
It was while training in Florida to become an army pilot that Brush met his future wife, Kaye. The Brushes have a married daughter, Nancy Kiloran, and three grandchildren.
His hobbies include fishing and photography. The Parker Brush Collection includes many black and white photographs of family, friends, and miscellaneous subjects that he both photographed and collected from 1910-1970..
SCOPE AND CONTENTS
The Parker Brush Collection includes one Gaylord box with twenty-eight files containing 8 x 10 to wallet size black and white snapshots. The photographs are from 1910 to 1970.
