COTILLION CLUB
INTRODUCTION
The Piqua Cotillion Club Collection was processed into the Flesh Public Library Archives in May 2004. The donor is Ruth Reed. The collection consists of one box of materials. The materials date from 1952-2003. There are no known restrictions on the use of the collection.
SCOPE AND CONTENT
The Piqua Cotillion Club Collection is in eleven folders, each relates to a specific area of the clubs activities.
HISTORY
The Piqua Cotillion Club was started by Dorothy Goater (Mrs. Richard) and was modeled after the Troy Cotillion Club. It was a private membership-by-invitation social organization for couples who enjoyed ballroom dancing.
The club was active from 1952 until its final dance on December 6, 2003 when it disbanded due to low numbers of members.
