Weber was first Treasurer. Other charter members were Mrs. R.L. Warthman, Mrs. Margaret Ankerman, Mrs. G.F. Ruffner, Mrs. Ervin Artman, Mrs. F.P. Brotherton, and Mrs. Robert Earl.
The first meeting was held at Wilder School on January 18, 1928. Three meetings later the name “Progress Club” was chosen as a permanent name. Membership grew with the second meeting.
The club’s programs were devoted to current events, literature, speakers, music, and travel.
The members were very caring ladies and donated generously to the poor and needy in this area.
