SCOPE AND CONTENTS
The City Federation of Women’s Clubs (Piqua, Ohio) Collection is divided into four series; Minutes, Treasurer’s material, Projects and Miscellaneous.
SERIES I: MINUTES – contains three bound minute books ranging from 1916 through 1966. The collection is missing volumes from 1909-1916 and from 1924-1932. The minutes contain information on member clubs and their representatives, club activities and projects. The correspondence of the club is usually hand written and the series contains scattered examples from 1923 until 1948. The hand written 1960 constitution and other earlier and later amendments are included in this series.
SERIES II: TREASURER’S MATERIAL – contains five small bound ledger books from 1917 until 1967, with a final disposing of funds listed in 1971. The treasurer’s correspondence is a mixture of hand written and typed material from dates scattered from 1918 until 1949. The bills and receipts in this series run from 1921 until 1946 and were issued from/by various local Piqua firms and organizations. The material in this series provides information on club projects, finances, dues structure and membership.
SERIES III: PROJECTS – contains loose material on the methods and finances of the Christmas Seal project 1927-1945, the public health nurse in 1918, and the visiting nurse in 1943.
