Charles E. Musco (1917-1996) – He was born and died in Piqua, serving most of his adult life as an
independent brick mason during a time of strong racial prejudice was strong. During World War II,
he served in the Army Corps of Engineers in the South Pacific. His civic involvements included
serving on the Piqua Park Board and for over twenty-five years with the Piqua Police Auxiliary. In
1985, Musco was the first African-American in Piqua to be elected to the Piqua City Commission.
